FIND A TAX FORM

All HRMC tax forms can be found on the HMRC website at http://www.hmrc.co.uk.  There are various forms available but the main topics are Corporation Tax forms, Charities and CASC forms, Excise forms, Import and Export forms, National Insurance forms, PAYE forms, Self Assesment forms, Self Employment forms and VAT forms.

You can search for forms as well , if you wanted to claim money for tax credits you would simply type into the search facility “tax credits” and a list of possible forms will be presented to you.

Most of the forms presented will be pdf copies which you can download and fill in or online versions which you can fill in online.

You can fill in almost every possible form online claiming child benefit, corporation tax, you can even complete your VAT returns online.

The advantage of completing your tax returns online is that the deadline for completing these returns is the 31st January whereas the paper copies have to be submitted by the previous 31st October.  If you fail to submit your tax form by the relevant date you can be fined £100.00 and this attracts interest.

If you want any outstanding tax to be collected through your tax code you must submit your tax return online by the 31st December failure to do this will result in you having to pay any outstanding tax in one lump sum., and trust me I know people who have avoided filling in the form because they cant be bothered or they dont think they know how to  and end up owing thousands in penalties and interest.  Dont ignore it fill out your tax return.

If you send your tax return later than the due date the tax office is entitled to “determine” the tax you should pay which they estimate and you can only update this estimate by sending in a completed tax return.
